About Annie Masarie
From the hum of her mother’s sewing machine to the heart of New York’s Garment District, Annie Masarie’s path has always been stitched with creativity and precision. Growing up in Colorado, Annie learned early that if you can copy a garment, you can create anything. That spark led her to earn a degree in Apparel Design and Production at the University of Colorado and straight to an internship with Diane von Furstenberg in NYC—where she found herself drawn again and again to the patterning room.
After discovering that haute couture wasn’t her calling, Annie took her love of mathematics and construction to a Manhattan grading and marking service, digitizing patterns and mastering size grading. Pattern logic came naturally, but her heart was set on creating. Soon, she became an in-house patternmaker at a high-end manufacturer, where she gained a deep understanding of development and production while working across dozens of brands and styles.
In 2014, Annie launched her freelance career and never looked back. She approaches pattern making with a customer-service mindset: her job is to bring each designer’s vision to life while making the sewer’s work as seamless as possible. In 2018, she relocated to Nashville and was struck by the city’s creative energy. There, she recognized a bigger need—helping emerging designers navigate the entire journey from concept to production. Over time, she built a team that now offers full development services: sourcing, tech packs, sampling, sizing, and more.
Inclusive Sizing & Technical Mastery
Annie is particularly passionate about inclusive sizing. From helping launch plus-size leather jackets in New York to expanding size ranges for brands like Able, she understands the art and science of designing for every body. Guiding designers to create garments that fit a size 16 with the same elegance as a size 4 takes patience, technical skill, and a collaborative spirit—qualities that define her work.

Masarie Patterns has partnered with respected names such as Imogene + Willie, Sendero, Elizabeth Suzann, Emil Erwin, Brakefields, Rep Fitness, Baucom Denim, and Galexy—each trusting Annie and her team to elevate their collections with flawless fit, proportion, and style. A Philosophy of Collaboration
Annie believes the opposite of “my way or the highway” is the only way forward. She thrives on learning from tailors, sewers, and fellow patternmakers, always refining her craft and embracing new methods. Her best advice? Ask questions, gather data, and treat every project as a true collaboration.
